Welcome

Welcome to the Bourbon and Rye club. You may have seen us on Instagram, or possibly YouTube, or perhaps you just found us on the internet. Regardless of how you got here, pull up a chair and get comfortable.

Our little virtual bar began in Oakland, California in 2014, where we began to document our absurd whiskey selection and were looking for a place to spark conversations with likeminded people who shared a deep passion for bourbon, and rye whiskey. We found it on IG, where the simplicity of a single picture, along with a caption could draw people in to share their thoughts, opinions, experiences, or questions. It slowly blossomed into meeting some folks locally, sharing a few at local joints, and having a small group of people trading bottles, or trying to help them locate a desired bottle.

Eventually we relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana where our deep passion for supporting local establishments really took off. We found some third places (and fourth and fifth ones too) and some locally owned joints where the people running them were interesting, welcoming, and really committed to their craft. We met some others in real life, and established lasting and deep bonds with one another, all connected by whiskey.

This virtual bar of ours has become an international gathering place for conversation and discovery, where people can be free to ask the questions they think might be silly, without fear of ridicule. We hope you’ll enjoy spending time with us, teach us things, learn some things, and expand our appreciation of the world, and it’s places, people and drinks.
